Sandra Johnson, Executive Director

As Director of Community Relations, Sandi applies experience in hospice and home health care to reach out to current and prospective Canyon Creek residents. She also is actively involved in the Alzheimer's Association of Utah chapter and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. In her spare time, Sandi enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, exercising, reading, cooking and scuba diving.

Jeanette Chidester, Director of Community Relations

Jeanette Chidester comes to Canyon Creek after years of living and working on the East Coast and the Midwest. She joined the Canyon Creek team in February 2006. After starting work here, she soon recognized that working with the residents and their families is truly one of her passions in life. She is actively involved in fundraising to aid in the research for Alzheimer’s. Some of her other passions are getting a chance to spend time with her amazing children Tyler and Brianna, her wonderful husband Eric, fishing, gardening, reading and riding her beach cruiser.

Diane Dearden, RN, Director of Nursing

As the Director of Nursing, Diane oversees nursing services, assessments, service plans and the medication program. She also assists with the coordination of resident move-ins and works directly with the residents and their families on a regular basis. Diane is a graduate of the University of Utah with a BS in nursing and has twenty years of experience in nursing, including many years as a hospice and urgent care nurse. She has a wonderful husband and four children; two teenage boys and nine-year-old twins. She enjoys tennis and is a busy sports mom.

Brandon Peterson, Director of Memory Care

Brandon Petersen has been working in assisted living since he became a CNA in 2004. He has loved his work since. What Brandon enjoys most about the industry is one-on-one time with the residents. He loves hearing the life experiences of the people he works with. Brandon has been married since 2005 to his wife Ciara. They have one daughter, Alexa, and a son, Noah. He loves playing the piano, trumpet, and singing. He enjoys sharing his talents with the residents of Kingswood Court. Brandon graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Public Health Education and a certificate of Gerontology.

Sharon Gibson, Personal Preferences Coordinator

In her role as Personal Preferences Coordinator, Sharon works hard to make residents' daily lives more enjoyable and meaningful, including arranging one-on-one companionship and other socialization opportunities. Sharon has worked as a certified nursing assistant and a surgical technician, and recently received her certificate in therapeutic recreation. For fun, she enjoys going to yard sales and camping with her family.

Activities Director, Christy Love

Christi enjoys working with the senior population and has done so for 16 years as a C.N.A. and 4 years in Activities. She says it has been a real insight to her that she realized she had a creative sideÊthat she was unaware of before working in Activities.
She has 5 grown children and 4 grand children, all of which live within 30 min of her. She enjoys listening to music, swimming, hand sewing, reading and she really loves the beach and the ocean.

Chef Susan, Director of Dining Services

Chef Susan comes to Canyon Creek with over 15 years experience and an Executive Chef. She had also worked for 15 years at the University of Utah Hospital as a Special Projects Coordinator. She attended the University of Utah with a Major in Middle Easter Languages.
Chef Susan has two sons, David and Kayvon, three grandchildren Ian, Serria, and Stockton. She spends most weekends with her grandchildren & her cat MacyGray.
Chef Susan is a member of the American Culinary Federation and an active member of the Beehive Chef Association. Chef Susan grew up cooking with her grandmother when she was a young girl. Her expertise is in Middle Eastern cuisine, which she learned during the time she lived in Tehran. Her real passion is desserts and loves to develop new recipes.

Ty Masterson, Director of Maintenance

To do a good job as Director of Maintenance, Ty closely oversees every mechanical part of the building and facilities and ensures their thorough inspections. In his spare time, he enjoys flying remote-control airplanes, sky diving, fishing and spending time with his family.

Maria Romero, Director of Housekeeping

As Director of Housekeeping, Maria coordinates the many behind-the-scenes details that make Canyon Creek sparkle and shine. She has eight plus years of experience in her field, including work at Canyon Creek since 2006. Maria was born in Mexico and moved to the United States in 1999; in her leisure time she enjoys shopping and taking walks with her family.
